The God of Genesis does not struggle with chaos. He speaks and disorder gives way to order, emptiness is filled, and darkness is overcome. As God forms and fills His creation by the power of His Word, we are reminded that the same sovereign Lord is worthy of our trust, worship, and obedience. Even more, Genesis points us to Christ, the eternal Word, who still speaks light into dark hearts and makes all things new.
