Central Idea of the Passages:
Specifically, this morning we’ll walk through four key scriptures that speak to our worry: Matthew 6:25–34, 1 Peter 5:6–7, Psalm 55:22, and Philippians 4:6–7. In each of these passages, God gives us both a command “Do not be anxious” and a gracious promise to help us. We’ll see Jesus’ exhortation not to worry because we have a faithful Father; Peter’s call to humble ourselves and throw every care upon God; David’s song inviting us to cast our burdens on the Lord who sustains us; and then Paul’s instruction to find peace through prayer and thanksgiving.
Main Idea:
Freedom from anxiety comes not by avoiding problems but by bringing our anxious hearts under the loving rule of God.
