Can you believe Big Walnut Schools start back this upcoming week? Summer has flown by! I hope your family found pockets of rest, joy, and connection over these warm months. At Grace, we’ve spent the summer walking through our “Freed From” series studying the freedom we have in Christ from guilt, shame, anxiety, depression, materialism, and busyness.. We’ve talked about Sabbath rest, gospel hope, and the importance of belonging to a local church body to avoid spiritual drift and isolation.
Now, as we head into fall, I want to encourage you to step into this next season with intentionality. Paul tells us in Ephesians 5:15–16:
“Pay careful attention, then, to how you live—not as unwise people but as wise—making the most of the time, because the days are evil.”
This Sunday, we’ll be jumping back into the Book of Acts, a study we began at the very start of Grace Church. Our hope is to finish the book by the end of November! It’s a perfect way to step back into the rhythm of weekly, Scripture-fed gatherings and to let God’s Word continue shaping us together.
As we walk back into this Fall season, here are some key ways to connect, grow, and be encouraged.
Ladies Garden Party – Sunday, August 17 at 6:00 PM (Wallace Homestead)
This will be a great evening for the women of our church to enjoy fellowship, food, and encouragement. I’ve already heard how many guests are being invited so let’s keep it going! There are invitations available on our welcome table here at the church building.
Women’s Retreat – September 12–13 (Camp Carl)
This overnight retreat is a great time to rest, connect, and refocus as a lady! If you haven’t already registered or talked with Nikki, please do so soon. You can register on the website here: Ladies' Retreat
Men’s & Boys Campout – September 25–27 (Engelwood, OH)
Our sending church has invited us to join them for a men’s campout this fall. I know not every guy will be able to make it, but if you can, this is a worthwhile opportunity for spiritual encouragement and brotherly connection! More details will follow!
Secure the Knot – Saturday, October 25 (CrossPointe Church, Westerville)
This one-day marriage enrichment seminar is a valuable time for couples to step back, reflect, and invest in their relationship. Last year, over 10 couples from Grace took part, and this year I’m praying for at least 15. Registration will be available soon, SO please mark your calendars now. Strong marriages make for a stong family and a strong church!
So there you have it:
Ladies, plan for the Garden Party and Retreat.
Men, consider the Campout.
Couples, join us for Secure the Knot on October 25.
God is doing a lot in our church, and I believe this fall holds great opportunities for growth, renewal, and connection. Let’s be prayerful and purposeful as we head into the season ahead.
For the Church,
Pastor Jordan
