This past Sunday night, I had the privilege of preaching at Faith Baptist Church, our sending church, on Philippians 1:3–11. Being back there reminded me how much God has done through faithful gospel partnership. Faith Baptist prayed for us, gave generously, sent a team, and encouraged us from “the first day until now” (Phil. 1:5). They “held the ropes” for us in the early days, and God used their faithfulness to help plant Grace Church.
That same spirit of partnership is alive here. Over these months of church planting, many of you have opened your homes, invested in others, served behind the scenes, and invited friends to hear the gospel. These ministry moments, big and small, are Philippians 1 in action. They show what it means to stand side by side for the mission of Christ.
Paul reminded the Philippians that “He who started a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus” (v. 6). God doesn’t have half-finished projects. If He began His work in us, we can press on with confidence, growing in love, guided by truth, and living for His glory until the day Christ returns. This truth matters in every season, especially when things shift.
Ministry is full of change, faces come and go, roles adjust, and God moves people into new opportunities. But the mission remains, and God’s work continues. As Paul prayed for the Philippians to “abound more and more” in love and discernment, that’s my prayer for us as a church, that we would keep moving forward in unity, confident that God is completing what He started.
